Dagon Sleeps

Dagon Sleeps 07:02
Washed up on a dark oppressive shore Thick mud riddled with decaying ocean spawn Aquatic corpses lay in rot across the land A sick place devoid of his holy hand Dagon Beyond decay and disease A suspension of reality The smell of rot is thick in the air Clouds of fog drowns out rays of solar flare An alien world that emerges from the sea A putrid place I wish I could unsee The only way is forward up the shore Shell and bone crunch under foot with oozing core Never felt such eternal silence Apothic gloom of nature's violence But this can not surely be real I keep pinching myself to no avail Dagon sleeps, bringing death from the deep Feared deity of the monolith In awe, the ancients carved thee Stumbling upon ancient prolific stones Carved with horrors that the modern world have never known A giant aquatic beast Not even whales are exempt from the feast Dagon sleeps, bringing death from the deep Feared deity of the monolith In awe, the ancients carved thee Insanity consuming me Feared deity, the fracturing of minds This place surpasses all I had thought could be real Shattering all preconceptions held by educated minds I cannot see how these secrets have remained hidden from the world Is this the truth or has my mind been compromised? Or is this all a delusion from mental illness that has me blind? I can no longer trust my reality Is this reality what I see or all smoke screens? The likeness of the beast is carved on ancient stone Scriptures from the past that we have never known Never have I felt such fear A cosmic horror… Dagon sleeps, bringing death from the deep Beyond decay and disease A suspension of reality The smell of rot is thick in the air Clouds of fog drowns out rays of solar flare An alien world that emerges from the sea A putrid place I wish I could unsee With every step I lose my sanity No one is ever going to believe me Dagon sleeps, bringing death from the deep Feared deity of the monolith In awe, the ancients carved thee Insanity consuming me Feared deity, the fracturing of minds Up to my eyes with morpheme The doctors gave it to me to calm me down Suppressing my dreams
